The idea that the sauropod could lead with it's chin, which is a considerable distance from 'all that mass' seems a little suspect.
Then there is that "speed up" idea. THEY WERE SLOW. Unless you want to engage in special pleading relative to nerve transmission speed and muscle composition/capability, that is the presumption.
Although they might have made great sumo wrestlers.
