Fish evolution in one generation (human generation, that is)

An interesting piece appeared on today's National Public Radio's "All
Things Considered" about rapid evolution of smaller adult cod. The cause
of this evolution? It appears to be the mesh size of ocean fishing nets.

Text (mentions other examples):

The page also has an audio link to the radio interview (highly
recommended listening), which mentions the cod.

Both fascinating and frightening in its implications for the world's food
supply. It suggests that if the selection pressure is intense enough,
evolution can work extremely rapidly. It also has ramifications for the
K-T extinction.
