Charles R. Knight's Dinosaur Debut

Cornell University has placed  online "The Century Magazine" from November 
1897. This issue contained Osborn's  obituary for Cope as well as an article, 
"Gigantic Saurians of the Reptilian  Age", by William Ballou. These are 
Knight's 
first published dinosaur paintings  and are the ones done under Cope's 
direction just prior to Cope's death.  Remember, too, at the time these were 
done 
Knight was 22 years old!  DV
