Re: Green River Formation teeth
<<What animal from the Eocene would have a tooth EXACTLY like that of an adult
Allosaurus Fragilis Maxilla tooth?>>
Various crocodilomorphan have teeth largely similar to larger theropods, in
both general shape, serrae, serration density, and size. These include, but
aren't limited to (and thus have caused confusion with dinosaurs) some
phytosaurs; some apparent aetosaurs; erythrosuchids/"proterosuchians"; most
taxa in the rauisuchid/"teratosaurid", prestosuchid,
"chatterjeeid"/"poposaurid" complex of fossils, otherwise known as
"rauisuchians"; the sphenosuchian complex; sebecosuchians; and even some
mekosuchine crocodylids. Several of these, including crocodyliforms, are known
in Cenozoic rocks, even in the relatively old Eocene Green River Formation of
Wyoming. The large crocodylian, *Borealosuchus*, is known from the Green River,
as are other unnamed, less complete fossils, as in *Leidyosuchus*, but these
show typical conical teeth. It is possible, however, that it could be a
sebecosuchian, with some taxa like *Bergisuchus* deriving from other Eocene
sites, in this case Germany.
