Here is a revised version of the list of acronyms I compiled on July 26.

Lots of acronyms are used on this mailing list, and every few weeks someone
asks for their meanings. So I have compiled the following list (most kindly
supplied by HP Ken Kinman):

(Many are common to the entire English language or the entire Internet, some
are very rarely used.)

AAMOF: as a matter of fact
ABS(U)RD: Anything But a Small (Undiscovered) Running Dinosaur [can be the
ancestor of birds] (see BAND)
AFAIK: as far as I know
AMNH: American Museum of Natural History (lots of analogues exist)
ASAP: as soon as possible
AWOL: away without leave ("gone", of military origin)
BAD(D): Birds Are Dinosaur( Descendant)s
BAND: Birds Are NOT Dinosaurs! (Worn by Storrs "BAND leader" Olson, Alan
Feduccia and some others, collectively called BANDits, at a conference on
avian paleontology.)
BBFN: bye bye for now
BCF: Birds Came First (hypothesis promoted by HP "Dino"George Olshevsky, as
opposed to BADD)
BRB: be right back
BTW: by the way
BYKT: but you knew that
