    Howdy,
        Just thought I'd pass this along, with my own comments of
course...

        I guess I should have been more precise; It's the male
ostriches that act like they have something stuck up their... Females
are generally a lot more mellow but their...curiousity...tends to
taint the results of observation. They're a bit absorbed with
watching "the pinks" in their natural habitat. Emus are absolute
darlings. Some of them are almost like pets, except for the
occasional one who will jump on your back when you feed them.
Strangly enough, emus are more violently territorial than ostriches;
mature males having been known to literally tear each other apart in
close quarters.

        Side note: I said "possible behavior" in the initial post
because, let's face it, no matter how much comparison and speculation
we make, truely being able to grasp these things about dinosaurs is
like trying to imagine a new colour...it can't be done.(This should
get a few folks hummin').
