None of the articles I've read about this toe bone explain how it was assigned
to *Kakuru*, given that the
holotype is a tibia. The story of the toe bone being noticed in an opal shop by
Neville Pledge in the 1970s
sounds exactly like the story of the holotype tibia.
Were the two specimens perhaps put up for sale at the same time, only to be
sold separately? They
weren't excavated by palaeontologists, so there are no reliable published
accounts of them being found in
association with each other (which itself is no guarantee of them being
conspecific).
