Jura Museum in EichstÃtt likely will close at the end of year (2018). The collection includes an Archaeopteryx and other important local fossils, which are regularly studied by international researchers. The museum is housed in a Catholic Seminary, which owns the collection but wants to end its sponsorship of the museum for financial reasons. The museum has also been receiving some local state support. Staatliche Naturwissenschaftliche Sammlungen Bayern curates and cares for the fossils. If the state can take over running other aspects of the museum, it may be able to reopen sometime next year, based on negotiations. Green Giraffatitan model (nicknamed "Werner") on public display around Herzberg, Germany, to celebrate the November 10th birthday of German paleontologist Werner Janensch (1878-1969) in the city; Janensch discovered the famous Berlin Giraffatitan fossils in what is now Tanzania 110 years ago come 2019. A special porcelain medallion depicting Giraffatitan [can't find an image for now] is 110 millimeters wide to celebrate the upcoming 2019 event, which should include a local exhibit (still in planning). (in German)
NOTE: There is some confusion in current English language sources about Janensch's birth date. The English language Wikipedia article (+ other sources) gives the date as Nov. 11, 1878.Â
German Wikipedia article has Nov. 10, 1878 birth date.
Also, German Biography link has Nov. 10 birthday
***
There is also a forthcoming monograph on Giraffatitan, based on study of the Berlin specimen, but I don't know the exact publication date....
