RE: Affinities of Cryolophasaurus



It's actually rather uncertain.  While according to my study that combined most 
recent analyses of the topic (http://dml.cmnh.org/2008Mar/msg00195.html), 
Cryolophosaurus is most likely to be a dilophosaurid coelophysoid, placing it 
as a basal tetanurine or as closer to ceratosaurs+tetanurines than 
coelophysoids adds only a small amount of steps.  It is, however, near 
certainly not a carnosaur (contra Sereno et al., 1996).
