How are people supposed to be able to keep track of this?

In many cases either by having insider knowledge, or not at all.

Diceratus (replacement name for Diceratops) - ceratopsid
Microceratus (replacement name for Microceratops) - neoceratopsian

Frankly, I think someone should petition the ICZN for conservation. How widely used are the insect names?
