Well, since Emus technically probably ARE dinosaurs, its not surprising. What is surprising is that it took someone this long to make the comparison, given than large flightless birds are so strikingly similar to Theropods (or simply a later version of the same).
Aren't neornithine leg mechanics quite different from those of "classical" theropods?
