And there are several features that would support a theropod identity, but
not exclusively, for example Xu et al. remark on the recurved crowns which tend
to be carnivorous in nature, but as a paper in preparation would intend to
show, this morphology is not restricted to theropods, and in fact may be
primitive to saurischians, if not dinosaurs as a whole, since mild recurvature
and carnivorous features are also known in other dinosauromorphs.
