Yes, more or less.  Vertebrae are usually connected by more than just
their centra; overlapping of the zygapophyses and other interesting
spinal doo-dads often figure into the picture as well.  These tend to
stiffen the movement of the spinal column, though.

so...something with flat centra would be less likely to be able to, say, touch its tail with its nose...right?
