I personally use Nexus Data Editor. It's extremely
reliable and rarely crashes (maybe once in a great
while, particularly on very large matrices). However,
it's not available for Macintosh, but only for
Windows. So if you're not on a Windows computer, it's
pretty much worthless I guess. Someone needs to create
a program like this for Linux. :-)
