It's more a danger of muddying up the publication waters. Some journals are
rather skittish about publishing things which are supposed to be brand new,
but which have already shown up on the internet.
So, "better safe than sorry" are good words of wisdom here.
As for the small theropod... Well, just Wait For the Paper.
