G. A. Mantell would be 214 today (and why Buckland wasn't first, after all)

Good day!
As Gideon Algernon Mantell would have birthday today, I would like to ask, if 
there is anything new in understanding of his role in the first dinosaur finds. 
I think he should be definitely hailed as the first man ever to describe 
dinosaur (instead of rev. Buckland). Reasons are obvious. Firstly, he found the 
teeth and bones by himself (or it was sent to him by workers) while Buckland 
just described a Megalosaurus jaw he found in the deposit of museum. Secondly, 
Mantell named the bones as "Proteo-saurus" allready in 1819. Buckland didn't 
know about the jaw until 1823/4. Thirdly, Buckland disabled Mantell to describe 
Iguanodon earlier as he wanted to be first with his Megalosaurus description. 
Also, the name Megalosaurus he erected for his theropod was already used as a 
valid scientific name for one genus of recent lizzard! The name was used in 
1822 by proff. Parkinson. In the light of these facts, I think there's no 
reason for denying Mantell his right to be the first true d!
 in!
