I heard a while ago a rumour that Crichton was going to have his hand in the
screenplay quite a bit for this film..  but that was in the early
development stages and that could have been scratched.  what was said was
something to the effect of  'Spielberg wants to do JP4, but with the help of
Crichton penning it.'

one could hope that it is the case still...

I figured Speilburg wanted to make a JP4, but make up his own dinosaurs--I
think they had JP toys with mutated dinosaurs.
