Dear Elaine,

Thanks for contacting us about a Paleoartists Workshop at next year's SVP! 
This is one of those  perennial ideas that in in the past has never really 
taken 
off to become a permanent fixture of the Meetings, but it should--our art is 
as vital to communicating ideas and new information about ancient life as are 
text and speaking sessions, and the established professionals could be a great 
potential help to the newer artists. For me, meeting new and upcoming talent 
was one of the highlights of the last meeting.

I think there is a wide array of potential topics we could discuss, ranging 
from the reconstruction process through demonstrations of techniques, 
professional relations and that old bugaboo, getting a start in the trade. I'll 
be 
happy to help get this process started, and I'll look forward to  hearing from 
you, Mark and other members in our group!
