Re: SVP on the Mississippi

I pretty much feel the same way as the other two posts on this subject!

I had an absolutely wonderful time at the meeting this year! There were some
talks that I found very interesting and that provided me with some good
contacts. It was also great to walk into the hotel after a long flight and
suddenly see friends! It was also nice to have the chance to make new
friends this year

The posters were all pretty good and some of them would have made awesome
talks. The food was always scarce, and it was interesting to sit back and
watch the feeding frenzy when some did appear. The auction was a ton of fun
as it always is, I can't wait to see what they come up with for next year. I
am sure it will have us all in stitches of laughter again!

Mostly it was great to get to see everyone and hangout with friends that you
may only get to see a few times a year! I enjoyed walking all over the
downtown area with different large groups of people in search of food in a
hurry, and having nice sit down dinners with friends and colleagues.
Wandering through the skyways with out getting all turned around (or locked
out) was also an interesting feat that I was beginning to master.

I really was impressed with the museum and thought that it was very nice.

The student round table forum was great, I know that I got some very good
information from Jim Mead and came away with some good reprints (Way to go
Andy!).

But I must admit that hanging out in the lobby talking folks to all hours of
the evening (morning?) was very enjoyable...as we all sat around wondering
if the Red Sox were going to beat the Yanks, watching a little extreme
Frisbee at 3 in the morning, or seeing Ewan prance through the bar in
full-Velociraptor mode!

I had a great time and I can't wait to see you all again next year in
Denver!!!
