Post-SVPCA comments



Re: my writeup of the 51st SVPCA, thanks to Dan, Tim and 
others for their words of appreciation. As should have been 
clear, the thing was done in a hurry so on rereading it later I 
noticed lots of stupid typos and nonsensical statements.

what will be interest to some here however is that Asher 
clearly stated at the beginning of his talk that most data now 
indicates that insectivores/lipotyphlans are not 
monophyletic and he therefore seemed positive to the idea 
that tenrecoids are part of Tenrecoidea.

Yes, my mistake. I gather most people nowadays regard 
tenrecoids as part of Tenrecoidea:)

Finally, to those of you asking for references on certain of 
the presentations, I would like to remind you that many of 
the things reported at the conference have not yet been 
properly published (err, as is always the case with 
symposium presentations). So references are not of course 
available yet. There is an abstract volume though...
