Re: palaeontologist characterization
<<< Hi list
I saw (again) a few days ago the JP trilogy (I'm NOT going to talk
about the
dinos of the film). I was just wondering who might have inspired
Grant's
character. It MUST be based upon one (or several) living
palaeontologists..
Anyone got an idea? >>
A lot of guys "think" they are, but I believe it's basically
Jack
Horner sans beer and butts. DV>
I don't know about the movie(s), but I believe I read an interview
with Crichton somewhere in which he said Grant in the novel was based
mainly on Horner, with some of Bakker's ideas thrown in. I don't know
if that's true or not though, it's been about a decade since I'd read
it. I am certain that Horner was the main influence, however.
