Re: Follow up (was RE: Happy "Capitalsaurus" Day!)

>From HP Holtz's referenced news story:

Is This Resolution Necessary? Council Declares Dinosaur Fossil an Official
Symbol of D.C.
Say what? Well, a May District Register reports that the city council on
February 6, 2001 passed a resolution "To recognize the dinosaur fossil named
the `Capitalsaurus', that has been declared an official symbol of the
District of Columbia, and to declare January 28, 2001 as `Capitalsaurus Day'
in the District of Columbia."

Wise heads may fret that the rest of the country might seize on typifying
the District as dinosaurian, in our quaint ways and approaches to
government. The reform city administration may want to keep a wary eye on
this possibility.

The resolution passed on February 6th declared that Capitalsaurus Day had
already happened 9 days before, on January 28th.
Seems only appropriate that a paleontology-related celebration be held
retrospectively.
And that we're now celebrating the impact of these actions with rousing
posts a whole year later.
By the way, the same people watch lively dinos chase people in JP-X and
still refer to anything lethargic, stupid, obsolete as dinosaurian...
