Three cheers! "Capitalsaurus" as been designated as the Official Dinosaur
of D.C.

To commemorate this special occasion, everyone should go and find the
crappiest dinosaur fossil they can lay their hands on, and give it a new
name. I just can't get enough of those _nomina nuda_ clogging up dinosaur
taxonomy.

(Stop Press: I had thought that "Capitalsaurus" was based on a
non-diagnostic tail vertebra. However, I'm pleased to see from the drawing
at the website that "Capitalsaurus" is now known from a complete skeleton.
Tom Lipka has been busy!)

Ahh, our taxes at work.

Time to de lurk.

Ah, this just goes to show how little people know and just ASSUME things. My
good friend and my co-worker, etc, Tom Lipka has NOTHING AT ALL TO DO WITH
CAPITALSAURUS! And I caution you for defaming his name with the scrappy
material. I wouldn't be surprised if you don't occur this wrath. To put it
mildly, he is completely against that specimen.

Capitalsaurus is all Peter Kranz.

As far as names go, GET A LIFE!!! When you start naming animals you can name
them what ever you want (except after yourself, but I bet you'd all want to
change that!).
It is named for a reason and if you don't like it then tough, live with
it...

Ah, I got to calm down...serenity now, serenity now, SERENITY NOW!!!! (ok,
that's for all you Seinfeld fans)
