This reminds me of the time the SVP was in Denver and I went to the
information desk and asked to see Ken Carpenter (the head paleontologist at
the Denver Museum of Natural History) and they said Ken? Ken who?

that the famous pregnant ichthyosaurs are from Germany, but not from the
"Solnhofen Shales" (which are plated limestones), but from the Holzmaden
Shales (real, black, oily shales this time). :-)<<
Not to mention there is a big age difference, Holzmaden is Lias, Early
Jurassic and Solnhofen is upper Malm, Late Jurassic. But that's not Dan's
fault...
