What are the current hot topics??

I'm to give a 30 min. presentation on mesozoic reptiles for a grad. level 
Adv. Historical Geology class this quarter.  As I only have a passing 
interests in vert. paleo, and there is no faculty at my school in this area, 
I have turned to the esteemed memebers of DML.  I'm looking for suggestions 
as to what topics I should research for my presentation.  Some things I have 
tossed around in my head are...

Geographic distribution of dinosaurs
Evolution of birds
Taphonomy/completeness of the fossil record - interpretations?
Basic anatomical classification
Similarities of faunal assemblages along margins of once joined
    continenets.

It is not a heavy paleontology class, so I'm looking to stay away from alot 
of systematics.  Any suggestions for topics, or recent lit. that would be 
worth looking at is greatly appreciated.
