Re: Predator ecology

I am working on a writing project, and I have a question on how many species of Carnivorous dinosaurs could realisticaly inhabit a given area,  given optimum rainfall, space, and food.  In particular, large predators (20ft+)  Also, are Tyrannosaurids known to share their enviroment over any part of their range with other large dinosaur predators, like Abelisaurs, Spinosaurs, or Carcharodontosaurs?  How likely would this be?  Would the Tyrannosaurids crush (not to mention eat) the competition?

Of course, after I wrote this I remembered that Spinosaurs had croaked by the time the advanced Tyrannosaurs (Albertosaurus, ect..) had come around

What about Labocania, the theropod from Mexico?  I have heard of it placed as a abelisaur.  Whould the area it lived in be part of the North American continent at the time, subsequently letting it share it's enviroment with Tyrannosaurs?  And what were the major predators in Europe?  I know Abelisaurs moved in toward the end of the Cretaceous, but did europe have Tyrannosaurs (other than the basal Eotyrannus)
