Interestingly, modern chondrichthyans (sharks + rays [elasmobranchs],
chimeras [Holoephali]) have pelvic claspers, and so did placoderms; but
basal elasmobranchs (like _Cladoselache_) did not. On the other hand, male
cladoselachids use to pay for dinner and a movie.
