The preferred common name for _Pithecophaga jefferyi_ ("Jeffer's
monkey-eater") is Philippine Eagle, because: it is native to the Philippine
archipelago (in four main islands to be exact); and monkeys actually
comprise less than half its diet. (Colugos or flying lemurs figure more.)
It is included in TIME magazine's latest list of endangered species.
