??????How??????? I mean, they can't change their chromosomes... ???
"Accidental" parthenogeny, in contrast, has been reported for turkeys (not
sure how far this case is proven). (Crichton would have liked that, I
think -- it is so rare and unusual that no one could have thought of it, but
"nature will find a way"...)
There is even one possible case of "accidental" parthenogeny among humans.
I only forget where I have read about these cases...
