Re: Postosuchus?

Thank you all for your answers regarding Prestosuchus and Postosuchus.
Since then I've been getting acquainted with Postosuchus and found it quite
revealing and frankly quite a mess. The first paper (Long & Murry 1995)
reconstruction has almost nothing to do with the more recent paper by
Sankar Chattarjee and new reconstruction by Greg Paul. The skull simply
doesn't match very much.
All are composites but I have compared all this material with actual
photographs of the Postosuchus fossils and (unsurprisingly),
Chattarjee/Paul are closer to what I could see in the photographs.
On the other hand, the "Walking with Dinosaurs" Postosuchus has nothing to
do with either of them. It seems they have done a rauisuchian composite of
sorts, mixed it with every possible thecodontian and put the
label'Postosuchus'... something that typically, didn't surprise me very
much either.
