If you haven't seen the news story, it "reveals" that small mammals lived
alongside the dinosaurs. I saw the Nature press release, and astoundingly
it said almost the same thing. I know there was some interesting
paleontology there -- signs that Gondwana may have been a site of important
mammal evolution -- but the 'dumbing down' process of generating a press
release obscured it. I didn't consider it a worthwhile story for New
Scientist because it would take too long to explain the real story, which
wouldn't really interest most general readers.
