They don't hunt in packs. They hang around together on the
same little island so everyone knows what everyone else is doing!
You know how it is. It's not as if they habitually hang around
together as they're not social, but they are brought to the same
scene by food, so a kill will sometimes attract other Oras.
They rush at their prey and lock on. If the animal
gets away, it'll be wounded and possibly infected anyway. Either this
Ora or another will be around when the "escaped" prey animal eventually
weakens so much that it can't escape another attack. The Oras
come in and start to eat the animal -- often while still alive (it's
gruesome).
By the way, the Ora is considered to be the most intelligent of the
lizards,
for what it's worth.
