Not entirely.  In fact, sperm whales are rather messy eaters.  Researchers
in boats above sperm whale feeding grounds regularly harvest significant
(well, significant to humans - a foot or so long) chunks of
large-but-not-"giant" squid that weren't swallowed.  This would only happen
if the whales were biting the squid, though you could argue whether the
bite is used to capture live prey or process prey already caught.
