ah, just some old stuff, cladograms and like that. (a bit long...)

Bringing old discussions up again.

Hadrosaur defence: Could the spikes/small plates from the neck to the tail tip
serve as
defence? Where those spikes made of bone, or just gristle? Mabye it made it
more
difficult for the predators to get a real bite?

Dromaeosaurid cladogram:
Here is my two new versions, based upon (the) series of skeletal
reconstructions I've
collected and made. (Like Tracy Ford said on this list - you learn when you
make
skeletal reconstructions). I have excluded taxon names, because I dont feel
like they
have the same importance as the genera I'm presenting here.

Phaedrolosaurus. (based upon other theories, bacause of poor basement material)
 |-Utahraptor (same comments as Phaedrolosaurus)
 |-Araucanoraptor (missing skeletal basement, so therefore basing on other
theories)
 |-Megaraptor
  |
  |-Dromaeosaurus (missing _good_ basement.
---------------------||--------------)
   |
   |-Saurornitholestes.
   |-Deinonychus.
   |-Velociraptor.
    |
    |-Adasaurus.
    |-Hulsanpes (here the basement is the same as at Araucanosaptor)
     |
     |-"Linsterosaurus" (OK...but this is the only name I could find for this
one!)
     |-Unenlagia (I MEAN this placement!)
      |
      |-"Rahona" (quoted for reasons most of you know - changing genus)
      |-Protarchaeopteryx.
       |
       |-Archaeopteryx.

The other one:

Phaedrolosaurus. (same comments as abowe)
 |
 |-Araucanoraptor. (see above)
 |-Utahraptor. (see above)
 |-Megaraptor.
  |
  |-Dromaeosaurus. (see above)
   |
   |-Deinonychus.
    |
    |-Velociraptor.
    |-Saurornitholestes.
    |-Adasaurus.
     ||
     ||-Protarchaeopteryx.
     ||-Unenlagia.
     |
     |-"Linsterosaurus"
     |-"Rahona"
      |
      |-Archaeopteryx.

Comments are more than welkome!
