Incidentally, GSP does do some hard study of the animals he illustrates.
Because he and Dr. Holtz differ in opinion on the grasping forelimb, and
because I higly respect both workers and do not wish to question their
interpretations, I am unable form an opinion on whether the
forelimb could be used for grasping.  However, I would note that
young hoatzins can grasp well enough to support themselves in trees with
their claws.
