New George Gaylord Simpson novella

I just spied this in my university bookstore -- a science-fiction novella
written by George Gaylord Simpson before his death, but not published until
now. It's called _The Dechronization of Sam Magruder_ and apparently has to
do with a time traveller from the 22nd Century who ends up in a Jurassic
valley. Terribly overpriced for the book's length and size, but it does look
interesting. The ISBN is 0-312-13963-2, the publisher is St. Martin's
Press. Edited by Joan Simpson Burns, introduction by Arthur C. Clarke,
afterword by Stephen Jay Gould. The cover is rather striking, with a
Bakker illustration in black and gold surrounded by radiating "hypno-wave"
circles in orange and neon pink. The science must be at least a decade out
of date, but I'm looking forward to reading this one.

Incidentally, I realized moments after sending my comment on the Ashfall
Fossil Beds yesterday that the original message to which I replied was
referring to body casts, not just skeletal material -- thus rendering my
own message rather pointless. Sorry, folks.
