I'm afraid you'd have to ask Harry Harrison, who wrote the Eden books. The
basic theme of the books is that intelligent man and intelligent dinosaurs
coexist (the dinosaurs having survived mass extinction), though not
amicably, on the present day earth. Man employs one type of technology
(spears, etc.), dinosaurs another (plant and animal based). It's some
time since I read the books, but I believe the dinosaurs were able to
induce plants to grow themselves into microscopes. The whole thing is
rather silly, but a fun read, if you like science fiction.
