Re: [dinosaur] What children want to know about dinosaurs

Judging by what young folks & parents of dinosaur obsessed kids post on Reddit (r/paleontology), the #1 question is "How do I become a paleontologist?" Closely related question is "What do paleontologists do?"/"What's it like to be a paleontologist". In their defense, it's much easier to find basic facts about fossils and evolution online than detailed accounts of paleontologists' careers and routines.

Another question that gets asked a lot is "how do we know how old fossils are?/How does radiometric dating work?"

Good day to all listmembers! I would like to ask, based on your experience as a scientists, science promoters, science journalists etc. What are the most frequently asked questions about dinosaurs from school-aged children (both younger and older)? Are their questions different than they were (asked by their predecessors) some 30, 20 or 10 years ago? In what? How do the new discoveries and research influence the topics of their concern? Thank you for your answers, in advance! Tom
