I think that's actually amazing news. I can never afford to travel to SVP anymore, but I could certainly take a few days off work to watch talks and read posters online. Hopefully this continues post-COVID with an alternative small 'online meeting fee' that
would certainly be very popular among amateur and international paleontologists. All it took to drag SVP kicking and screaming into the 21st Century was a pandemic...
