Recently discovered Triassic sauropterygian marine reptile skeletons from sites between WeiÃensee and Gitschtal in the KÃrnten region are now on public display at the BiosphÃrenpark-Zentrum near Nockalmhof and are being hailed as the first nearly complete such specimens found to date in Austria (similar fossils have been found in Switzerland) (in German)

The discovery of the first skeleton of the Permian pareiasaur Scutosaurus in 1899 in northern Russia Âby paleontologist Vladimir Amalitsky. The skeleton was quickly prepared and put on display in St. Petersburg in 1900, the first mounted prehistoric reptile skeleton in Russia (although the front limbs were mostly reconstructed from parts of back limbs!). Amalitsky identified it as a species of Pareiasaurus but it was later made the new genus Scutosaurus. (in Russian)
