Plateosaurus XL, the biggest Swiss dinosaur found so far, Âhas now been prepared by the Sauriermuseum Frick and will be mounted in public at the local parish hall. The skeleton will then go on tour, with a first stop in Bonn. The Sauriermuseum itself in Frick is planning an expansion.
The specimen was found in 2015 in a clay pit in Frick with other Plateosaurus skeletons, but was notably larger, with an estimated total length in life of around 8 meters (26 ft. ). However, the fossil itself is missing the head and 2-meter tail. The find came from the oldest of three layers of fossil bones. It is also the first Plateosaurus found with preserved skin impressions. (in German)
