Geologically oldest Archaeopteryx specimen (153 million years old, found in 2010) to go on display at the new Dinosaurier-Freiluftmuseum Altmühltal in Germany, about 10 kilometers from where the fossil was found by a private fossil collector. The specimen has been declared a Cultural Monument of National Significance [Kulturdenkmal von Nationaler Bedeutung]. With photos (in German)

The now fully prepared Tyrannosaurus skeleton 'Trix' will be driven with police escort to the Naturalis Museum in Leiden on Friday morning, where the specimen will be assembled for public display in September; plans for the escort include a decorated float with the Dutch biologist Freek Vonk, who organized the crowdfunding (Ten guilders for T. rex) by the Dutch public, including school children, to help pay for the fossil, excavated on private land in Montana; Trix was given her own special passport (English and Dutch)
