Yes we all thought that he had more time...I' am very sorry to hearthis after his long struggle and the hopes of recovery. There's notvery much we can say that hasn't been said before. His work wasalways appreciated and influential.

The Dinosaur list has organized special tribute/signature pagesbefore.... may I suggest Dan Varner deserves one?
