The
Scipionyx monograph near certainly uses a version of the Theropod
Working Group matrix (probably Senter's 2007 one with ten added taxa), which
doesn't include any other putative
neovenatorids or most of the characters supposedly grouping them with
carnosaurs. Similarly, Benson's matrix only includes a few coelurosaurs
and doesn't include many of the characters which could place
megaraptorans like Orkoraptor in that clade. Any resolution would have
to combine datasets and also include taxa like Zuolong.
