Researchers have found the remains of what they believe was an enormous
bony-toothed bird with
the largest wingspan ever recorded [5m].
Soaring the Chilean skies several million years ago, its wingspan would have
been at least 5
metres.
The measurement is based on well preserved wing bones from the newly named bird
species,
Pelagornis chilensis...
