Re: Latest in Nate Murphy scandal
There is also an article in today's Great Falls Tribune titled:
"Malta museum hopes dinosaur's tour will help pay for its final home"
http://www.greatfallstribune.com/article/20100124/NEWS01/1240303/1002/news01
The exhibit just closed at the Houston Museum of Natural Science is called
a "great success", with many excuses as to why it only drew 32,500 visitors
during the year. Fifteen dollars plus the museum admission of $10-15
seems pretty steep for an exhibit that many may have considered little better
than "The Thing" in Arizona.
However:
http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/front/6331848.html
"2 Houston museums thrive despite recession"...says that the museum draws 4
million visitors, including 500,000 school children. If the exhibit drew
32,500 visitors, less than 7% of the children saw it, and that should have
been their target audience. If you consider 4 million total visitors, less
than 1% saw it. I'm not sure what kind of thinking makes that a great
success.
