Unsurprisingly, this is a misrepresentation. What was investigated was the congruence between the tree and the order of appearance of the clades in the fossil record -- and this congruence was found to be remarkably good.
What about the _Eshanosaurus_ controversy?

I don't think this single fossil would worsen the congruence of this huge tree to the stratigraphy noticeably (though of course it would worsen it by _some_ amount).
