Wasn't Shuvuuia found in Mongolia? Integumentary structures have been
reported on it as well. And while it's a matter of nomenclatural
debate, I'd add Archaeopteryx to the list of non-bird diapsids found
outside of China with preserved integumentary structures.
But honestly, I'm not sure I agree with the implicit point, that there
is something fishy about the epidermal structures because they are all
coming from a series of Chinese LagerstÃtten. How many other
terrestrial or near-terrestrial Mesozoic LagerstÃtten are known?
To look at it another way, let's rephrase the question: "How many
Mesozoic mammals are known from outside of China that preserve
integumentary structures?"
