Re: pteroid trouble

What a pity there are by now few published photographs (to my
knowledge) of the presumptive articular surfaces on preaxial carpal,
proximal syncarpal, and pteroid. Not knowing the fit of these, one
without access to the better preserved of these pterosaurs can not
lean in any direction, and wait for the publication of proofs of good
fit by Unwin and Bennett.

By the way, do somebody know of a good description of a
"rhamphorhychoid" carpus, with photos included, so as to see the
possibly involved surfaces? The best descriptions (and more figured)
of the pterosaur carpus I know are those of Pteranodon (Bennet, 2001)
and Anhanguera piscator (Kellner and Tomida, 2000), but both are
relatively derived and maybe not representative of most Pterosauria

Cheers
