Re: pteroid trouble
Finally I got the abstract volume.
Unwin's abstract does not say that the pteroid articulates with the proximal
syncarpal. Did Dave change the meaning of his talk in the meantime?
Where should articulate the pteroid on the proximal syncarpal (I mean, in
which part of the syncarpal)?

Did anyone see David Unwin's talk on putting the pteroid back into
the fossa of the preaxial carpal?
You misunderstand. The pteroid articulates with the proximal syncarpal
according to that talk. Unwin explicitly agreed with Bennett (who was
present) that the fovea contained the sesamoid A, but disagreed with his
opinion that the pteroid instead articulated with the proximal surface of
the preaxial carpal and showed good evidence from articulated specimens
that
it actually articulates with the proximal syncarpal.
